National practice list

6,393 practices. GP names and the practice each works at. Group and independent, in one list.

The reach asset: every general practice in Australia, group-owned and independent, in one list. It carries the GP names and the practice each works at, more than 34,000 listings. Sold in two versions, with or without the owning operator marked on each group practice. Compiled with technology systems and not warranted. Priced on that basis.

What it is

A national list of general practices of all sizes, with the named GP roster where found and the practice attributes a vendor needs to target. It is a research aid, not a verified contact database. It has no named individual contacts and is not built for deliverability. What it is good for: territory sizing, deduplication against your own list, market coverage checks, and a starting universe for enrichment.

Features and what they let you do

What is in the file

  • GP names. Named GPs and the practice each works at, more than 34,000 listings across the file, duplicates removed.
  • Practice class. Solo, small, medium or large independent, banded by GP count.
  • Location (MMM). Modified Monash Model grade MM1 to MM7 from the authoritative locality classification, not a postcode rollup. Held for parts of the list.
  • Nurse on site. A nurse-present flag, recorded on some records.
  • Practice details. Name, address, suburb, postcode, state, phone and website. The base version carries no ownership fields and no named contacts.

What it lets you do

  • Target by size and staffing. Filter to practices of a given GP band, GP roster or nurse presence.
  • Plan a territory. Count and map the addressable practices in a state or region before you deploy a field force.
  • Segment by MMM. Separate metropolitan practices from regional and remote ones for workforce or access programs.
  • Clean your own data. Deduplicate and check coverage against a national reference.
  • Feed enrichment. Use it as the base map a disease-burden overlay ranks.

The Modified Monash Model (MMM) is the standard Australian geographic classification, grading locations from MM1 (major cities) to MM7 (very remote communities). It is used to plan healthcare workforce, funding and service delivery, so you can separate metropolitan practices from regional and remote ones.

Accuracy and method

This list is compiled with technology systems and automated extraction from public sources, with manual checking on top. It will contain errors. Practices close, move, merge, rename and change ownership; GP counts, nurse flags, phone numbers and email addresses are recorded as found and are not individually confirmed. Records change between builds. Medius does not warrant accuracy or completeness, does not guarantee deliverability, and accepts no liability for decisions made on the data. It is sold as a research aid, not a verified contact database. Confirm any record before you act on it.

The caveat is not a disclaimer buried in the terms. It is the reason the list is priced where it is. See how the data is built.
