GPZoo
A Medius Global dataset

Who owns Australian general practice, and who to sell to.

Three datasets on the commercial structure of general practice: the group operators, the large independents outside them, and a national list of practices with GP rosters and nurse presence. On top of them, a bespoke layer that ranks practices by clinical demand, not footprint.

The market, in four numbers

340
Group operators
2,041
Group practice sites
391
Large independents (10+ GPs)
6,393
Practices nationally

Current to July 2026. Compiled with technology systems and direct verification, and maintained on an audit cycle. A working dataset, not a warranted register. See how the data is built.

Buying practices

Who owns what, at what scale, and which single practices are large enough to be worth a call. The group operator dataset and the large independents.

Suppliers to primary care

Selling to practices

Target by practice size, the GPs listed at each practice, nurse presence and clinical need. The national list carries the roster and staffing; the enrichment layer ranks a territory by disease burden.

Advising on transactions

On a sell-side or buy-side mandate: see where a practice or group sits by scale, how many operators sit above it, and which buyers or targets are realistic. The operator dataset and the independents.

Large independents

The public layer is free. The rest is licensed.

The group operator dashboard is browsable now: 340 operators, their site counts, GP numbers and state distribution. It shows who is in the zoo. It does not show ownership type, operator contacts, the practices each operator holds, or where the clinical demand sits. Those are the licensed layers.

Browse the public dashboard or see the full group operator dataset.

Buy-side market scan

A short external read on the GP practice buy-side, market structure, the buyer pool, the broker landscape and current conditions, is in preparation and will sit here alongside the zoo data. Ask to be told when it lands.

Pricing, in brief

Every price is on the pricing page, ex GST, with no quote wizard. The group operator dataset runs A$3,500 to A$30,000+ by tier. The large independents list is A$900. The national list is A$2,250, or A$3,200 with the owning operator marked on each group practice. Bespoke enrichment is A$5,000 to A$20,000+, quoted per engagement.
